Gage Levi Ellsworth...

My doctor originally gave me the due date of May 19th, BUT based on my cycle dates my due date was May 3rd. During my whole pregnancy I met in the middle and told everyone May 10th. A mother definitely knows best because May 2nd our little man was born. I was having a day just like any other day during the super uncomfortable third trimester. I had gotten a pedicure earlier in the day and went shopping at Target. I got home and while preparing a simple dinner for my family I had the urge to go potty. It was then I started having PAINFUL contractions that were only two minutes apart. We called my mom to come get the kids, and we were at the hospital within 20 minutes, 6:30 PM. I warned the nurses how fast Miles came, so they got everything ready quickly. The nurse checked me and I was dilated to a 7. I was too far along for an epidural, but had the option of getting an intrathecal. If there was anything to subside the pain a little I was all for it, so I decided to get the intrathecal. A few minutes later the nurse checked me again and I had already dilated to a 10, yikes. I started pushing, pushing, and pushing, but nothing was happening. The intrathecal I had received numbed me too much, therefore I was not pushing effectively. I had to wait for the medicine to wear off before delivery was possible. I still had to push through each contraction as the medicine slowly wore off. I think I asked about 50+ times when baby was coming out. Finally the medicine wore off and I was able to push more effectively and baby Gage came at 8:41 PM. I know I arrived at the hospital and had Gage about two hours later, but knowing he could have come sooner if I had opted out on receiving the intrathecal made me second guess my decision of getting it in the first place. Overall there were no major complications, and I was so happy to be holding my little man in my arms.

Kyra and Miles came to the hospital the next day to meet their new little brother. They instantly fell in LOVE with Gage. They especially loved that Gage had a present for each of them. Kyra got paper, princess stickers, and paints and Miles got a monster truck. They both were super happy.

We came to the hospital with two names, Gage or Wyatt. Bryce left the decision up to me because he liked them both. I had such a hard time picking a name, I kept going back and forth. I finally picked Gage a few hours before going home.

Funny story, my friend Jacqui and I delivered babies on the same day at the same hospital. Jacqui was due a few weeks before me, but because I knew my due date was wrong I teased Jacqui for months that we were going to have our babies on the same day and we did. Crazy. Good thing because Jacqui told me we could no longer be friends if I had Gage before she had Ruby. It was fun visiting with friends in the hospital.

Date nights all week, yeah!

This last week Bryce and I went on a few dates, yeah. Pennie offered to watch the kids one night. We enjoyed dinner at Black Bear Diner, a restaurant we both had never been to. We both got breakfast, and it was super tasty. After we went to a few stores to shop for Kyra's birthday. Another night we dropped the kids off at the Robertson's so Bryce and I could go to the temple together. I love going to the temple, especially with Bryce. After we got blizzards at Dairy Queen, yummy. Another night we swapped babysitting with our friends The Gold's. We met up with Brent and Kim for a game of Disc Golf. We had a blast. After we went to dinner at Cancun which of course never disappoints. We had a great week full of dates. I wish we could have weeks like this more often. Love you Bryce!

Surprise Baby Shower!

When I announced we were expecting baby number three, "the girls" asked if I was interested in a baby shower. I replied saying they did not have to do such a thing because I already have a girl and a boy, therefore was a shower necessary. I said I would love to celebrate in some way, but did not want anyone to feel pressured at all. Nothing was ever mentioned again, BUT fast forward several months to girls night a few weeks ago and Kristy mentioned wanting to have a BBQ with friends and family. I put it on the calendar and read nothing more into it.

Well Saturday came, the day of the BBQ and because Miles was napping Kyra and I were the only ones going. We showed up a few minutes late, and no one was answering the door. I assumed everyone was outback, so we decided to walk in. All of a sudden Kristy was at the door acting silly. I asked her if we were the first ones to arrive, or if the BBQ had been canceled because nobody was there. Kristy giggled and never really answered my question, I was so confused. Right before entering the living room area Kyra shouts out, "Look mama I see your Mother". I peaked around the corner and there stood my family and a few close friends shouting out, "SURPRISE". The girls [Ann, April, and Kristy] threw me a surprise baby shower. I had no clue, and was completely surprised.

After the shock of being surprised the party started with everyone mingling and eating yummy treats. The food table consisted of mini tacos, chips/dip, veggie pizza, fruit, cupcakes, drinks, and mints. Everything was so good. We then played a fun game, drinking from a bottle. Everyone was given a baby bottle filled with 2 ounces of water, and  was told to drink the water as fast as possible. It was a hard task, you wonder how babies get anything from their bottles. My friend LoraAnn won the game, no one else was even close to being done when she finished. After I opened gifts for baby boy, he was definitely spoiled.

I had such a great time celebrating baby boy, I'm sooooo excited to meet this little guy.  I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. Thanks so much girls for surprising me, love ya!

Goodbye Tucson, Hello Entourage...

With baby #3 coming soon we were in the market for a new vehicle. We decided a mini van would be the best fit for our growing family. We tried getting a Honda Odyssey through my brother Brent at the auction, but that did not work out. Therefore the last few weeks have been spent looking for a new mini van. We finally found one we were happy with for several reasons, especially the price. We traded in our Hyundai Tucson, and bought a Hyundai Entourage. As we were leaving the car lot we told the kids to say goodbye to our "old" car, Kyra cheerfully waved goodbye and Miles started balling. I was not expecting Miles to be so sad, but I guess it makes sense because the Tucson is all he has ever known. We are happy with our new purchase, hopefully it will last us for many years to come.

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year. Church starts at 1:00, so we decided to dye our eggs before church. The kids had fun personalizing each egg, they loved the magic crayon.

We got the kids dressed in their Easter outfits and went to church. We got a few great pictures, and a lot of silly ones.

While we were at church the Easter Bunny came to our house and had a basket filled with goodies for each of the kids. They were so excited.

Later for dinner my side of the family got together at Ben and Lexie's house. Each family was assigned something to bring for dinner, everything was delicious. We had ham, potatoes, baked beans, deviled eggs, fruit salad, and rolls.

After dinner Kyra was excited to show everyone her pinata she made to do with all the cousins. The pinata was a huge hit.

We of course had an Easter egg hunt. The cousins had so much fun running around filling their baskets full of candy. We had a great day celebrating Easter!

Kyra continued her Easter fun at preschool today by having an Easter egg hunt. Each child got to find 10 eggs hidden in various places in Mrs. Wall's backyard. Kyra LOVED her "special" bunny glasses to help her find the hidden eggs.
